High price for content management systems
06/13/2002
A new study from Jupiter Media Metrix suggests that companies are overpaying for content management technology.
However, despite the prevalence of costly, failed content management systems, most organizations still view content management as the key to operating their websites, according to the research firm.
Around 53 percent of companies will have deployed new document, content or media asset management systems by the end of 2002. Moreover, 19 percent of website managers surveyed by Jupiter, said they will be involved in content management consolidation projects.
Jupiter suggests that while only 31 percent of companies have developed homegrown content management systems, this is likely to double by 2004 as more companies turn away from expensive systems.
