B2B Online Advertising is Booming

06/14/2010
More B2B companies have turned to internet marketing over the past several years, and for ample good reasons, too. Since the world has been forever changed by the advent of the internet and with it transparency, accountability, measurability, and microsegmentation—the world of media and advertising has forever been changed.
Much like video stole the radio star’s glory, and online file sharing websites altered the music industry, much is the same in the realm of gaining massive web exposure as well as tapping direct response opportunities using online advertising in the constantly competitive business environment.

Scope of the B2B Interactive Marketing Industry at a Glance

In case you are wondering just how large this industry truly is and where it’s heading over the years to come, a recent report published by Forrester Research and reported by BtoB sheds some light on this matter. According to an article that was published in early March on BtoB’s website, “B-to-B spending on interactive marketing will more than double in the next five years, jumping from $2.3 billion in 2009 to $4.8 billion in 2014. This is according to Forrester Research's “B2B US Interactive Marketing Forecast, 2009-2014.”

Exposure and Web Presence Top List of Reasons for Online Advertising

The same report offers another look at why more companies and businesses are looking towards interactive marketing as a viable solution. “More than 50% of that interactive spending will be on company web sites, which is expected to increase 7.5% this year. Other interactive marketing tactics are projected to grow faster: social networking sites (43.3%), webinars (26.0%) and search engines (17.1%).”

More B2B companies are seeking to gain massive exposure by penetrating the online marketplace with its web assets. This isn’t totally surprising given the web channel – when coupled with a sound strategy and tactics addressing targeted segments – continues to demonstrate its efficiency and effectiveness to gain immediate brand/product exposure as well as drive leads/sales, leading to increases in market share and ROI.
