Businesses turn to mobile infrastructures

03/05/2002
Spending on mobile enterprise infrastructure by companies around the world will reach USD300 million this year, and USD2.3 billion by 2005, reports CyberAtlas.

This is according to research from Datamonitor.

Spending in Europe will grow at a CAGR of 73 percent from USD79 million last year to USD706 million by 2005. In the same period, spending on mobile infrastructure by firms in the Asia-Pacific region will grow from USD79 million to USD447 million.

Despite the growing spending in this market, mobile infrastructures will still only account for less than 1 percent of global spending on hardware by businesses. Datamonitor doesn’t expect major growth in the market until 2004.
