Few US and UK firms not online

93 percent of US companies and 86 percent of UK companies now use the Internet,
Ninety-three percent of US companies and 86 percent of UK companies now use the Internet, according to Taylor Nelson Sofres.
Their online activities include email, employee schedule management, knowledge management, marketing, order fulfilment, sales, supply chain management, training, wireless applications, and CRM.
Most other countries lag far behind the US and the UK in this respect. Only 60 percent of Japanese firms and 36 percent of French firms use the Internet.
The study found, however, that most firms in the US and the UK plan to decrease their Internet-related spending in the next year, while companies in those countries that continue to lag behind plan to increase their Internet spending.
