Online music subscription services to grow
03/26/2002
A new study from Informa Media predicts that online music subscription services will be worth USD2.4 billion by 2007.
This is an increase from the expected revenues for 2002, which Informa Media suggests will reach USD71.5 million.
The report forecasts that subscription services won’t begin to take off until 2003 when many of the user restrictions of the early recording industry-backed services have been lifted.
The research company also suggests that by 2007, North America will account for 46 percent of online music subscription revenue, followed by Europe, with a 33 percent share.
