03/26/2002
More than 40 percent of home Internet users in the US have downloaded MP3 files onto their home computers, according to a new study by Parks Associates.

Around 81 percent of Internet users aged between 18 and 24 admitted to downloading music files onto their home PCs, storing on average 350 clips, songs and files.

Sixty two percent of Internet users between 25 and 34 download music files to their home computers regularly, but store twice as many files as younger users.

Only 24 percent of those aged between 55 and 64 said they downloaded music from the Internet and the figure declines to 13 percent for those aged 65 or more.
