Spending on wireless services to rise

The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) predicts that US spending on wireless communications will reach a total of USD116 billion in 2002, an increase of 8.5 percent on 2001.
Growth in number of subscribers is also set to increase, from USD177 million in 2001, to USD200 million in 2002.
The TIA indicates that spending on wireless services will reach USD130 billion in 2005, a 15.6 percent compound growth rate for the 2001-2005 period.
