B2B spending to exceed USD1 trillion in 2004
04/29/2002
(B2B) spending will total USD482 billion
This is according to a new forecast from eMarketer, which has reduced its original projection for 2002 by USD17 billion.
eMarketer has also reduced its B2B spending projection for 2003.
Originally it estimated that spending would total USD854. However, analysts now expect B2B spending in 2003 to reach USD721 by the end of 2003, a rise of nearly 50 percent on 2002.
B2B spending for 2004 is expected to exceed the USD1 trillion mark.
eMarketer also estimates that business-to-consumer (B2C) spending for 2002 will total USD75 billion. This is an increase of 50 percent on 2001, when spending totaled USD49.8 billion.
Nearly half of Internet users in the US will have spent an average USD1,089 on goods and services by the end of the year, according to eMarketer’s forecast.
