Internet access providers continued to jockey for position in the US market during the first quarter. AOL held onto its commanding lead in the dial-up space while Comcast remained the top broadband company.
In the dial-up market, AOL's 29% share was unchanged in the first quarter. Earthlink edged up to a 6% share of the market, nosing ahead of MSN.

A recent report from the Leichtman Research Group breaks out subscriber numbers and net additions for the top cable and DSL providers during the first quarter.
